Guard Dog Rover is one of the 
Stratagems in Helldivers 2.
AX/LAS-5 Guard Dog Rover is a backpack Stratagem. An autonomous drone equipped with a laser rifle, providing 360° cover. Returns to backpack to cool down.
Guard Dog Rover Stratagem unlocks at lvl 10 player level and costs 7500 
Requisition Slips to unlock.

Guard Dog Rover Mechanics[edit | edit source]
Guard Dog Rover is a backpack drone. When equipped it will target nearest enemy to the helldiver wearing the backpack and will attack it with a laser beam.
Its perfect for getting rid of small melee enemies and will protect helldiver from 
Hunter enemies that are usually a major threat.
Although it can do a lot of friendly fire in certain conditions and easily take out other helldivers and its owner as well if enemies will get from the other side.
In order to avoid friendly fire its important to understand how Guard Dog Rover works:
- Its always over right shoulder of the helldiver who is wearing the backpack
- It will attack the nearest enemy
Those 2 facts will allow helldivers to minimize the chances of being killed by their own Rover if they will focus on the enemies on the left from them.

Guard Dog Rover Tips and Tricks[edit | edit source]

- Try to pick up Guard Dog Rover if killed. Long cooldown makes it hard to call in another one fast enough
- Share extra Guard Dog Rover with other team members who doesn't have a backpack item.
- Guard Dog Rover is best used when helldivers loadout doesn't have a lot of fast firing or AOE weapons to deal with a lot of small enemies.
- Guard Dog Rover have infinite ammo supply, but can overheat. Its less of a problem on the cold planets.
